--------------------------------------------------Monday Report
------------------**Last Week's Market Recap (April 12 to April 16)**Early in the week, the market opened higher from the previous week buoyed by widespread
buying across the sectors amid receding concern over Greek finances and gains in the
American stock markets. Later on, despite strong caution over high levels in the market,
buying interest surrounding electrical appliances, marine transport and such stocks grew
with positive news of Intel’s earnings and China’s GDP displaying high growth in the
4th quarter. As the market strengthened, TOPIX reached its highest level this year.
Heading into the weekend, negative news of the strengthening yen and Asian stock markets
falling led to investors showing restraint as the market turned bearish.TOPIX fell by 0.58 points (0.06%) from the previous week to close at 988.84.
Average daily trading volume rose by 158 million shares to 2.295 billion shares,
and average daily trading value fell by 45.3 billion JPY to 1.5328 trillion JPY.
